Here we go guys and gals , The Vampire Diaries returns in just over a weeks time for Season 2!

Now whilst this is the official preview / promo for the very first episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 2, its not really much to go on ,it appears to be more of a “Season 1 recap” .

So heres the rundown on Season 1 courtesy of Screenrant.com;
“The last we saw of the show’s key characters during the season 1 finale “Founder’s Day,” Mayor Lockwood and son Tyler are revealed to be some sort of new creature for the show (werewolves?); Bonnie (the witch) had betrayed Damon and Stefan (the vampire brothers) by not disabling the anti-vampire device but came through to save them in the end; the tomb vampires were set to take out the founding families while they instead met their wrath as the families make use of the (fully operational) device to incapacitate their sworn enemies; Anna gets staked (finally) and her emo boyfriend Jeremy (Elena’s bro) takes her blood and commits suicide with the goal of turning into a vampire himself.
All of these events occur while the relationship between our three protagonists gets even more complicated, with Damon making his move on Elena and Katherine finally making her debut.
Poor, poor Stefan.”

Founder’s Day has finally arrived, and everyone is busy with last-minute preparations for floats and fireworks. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is uncomfortable with Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) new attitude toward Elena (Nina Dobrev), but Elena is more concerned about repairing her relationship with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen).

Jeremy is worried about Anna (guest star Malese Jow), but not sure he’s on board with her latest plan for the future. While Caroline (Candice Accola) is enjoying her day as Queen of the celebration, she also tries to help Matt (Zach Roerig) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) get their friendship back on track.

Finally, although Damon and Alaric (Matt Davis) do their best to stop him, Johnathan Gilbert (guest star David Anders) sets a plan in motion that brings Founder’s Day to an end amid chaos, destruction and death. Sara Canning and Katerina Graham also star. Marcos Siega directed the episode written by Bryan Oh & Andrew Chambliss (#121).

Founder’s Day has finally arrived, and everyone is busy with last-minute preparations for floats and fireworks. ISOBEL RETURNS TO MYSTIC FALLS this week on The Vampire Diaries!

Isobel (guest star Mia Kirshner) returns to Mystic Falls and stuns Alaric (Matt Davis) with her attitude and her demands that he arrange a meeting with Elena (Nina Dobrev.)
When mother and daughter finally meet, Isobel refuses to answer most of Elena’s questions, but reveals that she will stop at nothing to find the mysterious invention Johnathan Gilbert has been searching for.
Isobel’s dangerous actions lead Stefan (Paul Wesley), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Katerina Graham) to step in and help Elena deal with the situation.

Watch The Vampire Diaries Season 1 Episode 19 Miss Mystic Falls

At the Founder’s Day Gala, Elena and Caroline compete for the crown of “Miss Mystic Falls” against other girls from town, including Tina Fell (guest star Autumn Dial) and Amber Bradley (guest star Spencer Locke).

Elena is happy to have Bonnie (Katerina Graham) back in town, but Bonnie still has issues to work through.

John Gilbert (guest star David Anders) attempts to intimidate Damon, but his plan doesn’t have the desired effect.
Damon discovers that Stefan is hiding a dangerous secret that could impact everyone in town.
